I had an Atari and it was great. Have fun!

*Was* the key word in that sentence.

I was playing one of these at a museum the other day, I am jealous.
Yes we have a museum with tons of playable classic games and some newer stuff like the oculus rift, which made me feel sick.

Some of the classic games are still fun to play.
I had an Intellivision as well, many years ago. I really wish I hadn’t lost that one during a move, I enjoyed playing it.

Frogger? I loved that game.

I sell collectible video games/systems for a living and this is worth...
Nothing!!! Congrats :)
On the other hand, it’s tons of fun, wiht games like Pitfall, Indiana Jones or even ET once you know how to play it !!
Enjoy man, many hours of fun coming your way :)

Needs more paddle controller. Those things are awesome.
Still have my 2600 from when I was a kid. Still works. I'm on my 3rd 360...

you had one too?
![]() 10/07/2015 at 10:48 |

Oh yeah...probably the best game they made.

I wasn’t buying it to become rich one day. I had one as a kid and wanted another one.
Paid $80 bucks (cad) and for me it was worth every penny.

Working on getting other games for it. Frogger was one of my favorites.

There is nothing that bring a smile to your face quite like a classic game. The new stuff is great and all but it is easily forgettable.

Nope still is.

Is the console unusually heavy? If it is, it’s an early model with lots of lead :D
![]() 10/07/2015 at 11:08 |

I don’t know what would classify as unusually heavy but it’s probably 5lbs or so.

I could of got the paddle controllers for another $20 bucks but I only ever remember using them for Pong so I passed on it.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 11:18 |

It’s the lighter version. Heavy ones are more rare and valuable for some reason. People like lead I guess :P

I had one as a kid. Turns out my mom would play it all day after we went to school.

You are holding the source of my wasted childhood. You’re going to have a lot of fun with that. Also if you like retro gaming, you may want to look into one of these:
I think it is going to be my christmas present to myself....I may let my kids use it too....maybe.

I’d much rather have the real thing.
I currently have:
Atari,NES,SNES,N64,Sega Genesis & PS1.
I have pretty much all of my retro needs met. The stuff I never played as a kid I have no real interest in.
I working on setting up a scaled down version of this:

you mean 80 loonies? =P congrats, even though I have tons of games emulated on my phone, they’re fun but they don’t compare to actually playing on a console.

I agree. This hooked up to my 60” with the original controller makes it a much better experience. Especially since the last time I played Atari was on a 13” tube tv.

Nice bro!
I’ve currently got:
original NES, which requires an old tube TV for duck hunt guns :-(
sega genesis
N64
xbox 360
Would totally do an atari. I remember some tank game I use to play that was f-ing awesome.

I bought a NES at a garage sale in 2004 for $10. I sold it in 2012 for $100. I don’t miss it; I’ve got emulators.

You don’t see them in garage sales anymore. I’ve been looking here and there and have never seen anything.
Luckily I still have mine from when I was a kid.

I’m incredibly jealous of your museum.
